Short Trip to Vreden & Winterswijk
This past weekend a friend of ours was celebrating his birthday at a vacation home in Vreden. Which is practically almost in the Netherlands. So we all decided to meet there early and visit Winterswijk across the border. I haven't been there in quite a while and was happy to revisit. I like how the little houses turned storefronts look in that small town. Quite a few kept a great deal of character and charm.
After strolling through town and doing some shopping we headed back to the vacation home in Vreden. We took in some tasty treats from the BBQ and decided to go for a walk afterwards. The landscape around the house is fantastic. A couple of very nice lakes and ponds. I really want to revisit next year and experience how it looks in the summer time.

Letztes Wochenende feierte einer unserer Freunde seinen Geburtstag in einem Ferienhaus in Vreden. Was günstiger weise fast in den Niederlanden liegt. Also entschlossen wir, uns früher zu treffen und Winterswijk auf der andern Seite der Grenze zu besuchen. Ich war schon länger nicht mehr da und war froh mal wieder dort zu sein. Ich mag besonders die kleinen schmalen Häuser die in Läden verwandelt worden sind. Einigen blieb noch einiges an Charakter und Charm erhalten.
Nach dem Gang durch das Dorf und ein paar Einkäufen gingen wir zurück zum Ferienhaus in Vreden. Der Grill wartete schon auf uns. Nach ein paar leckeren Speisen stand ein Verdauungsspaziergang durch die Natur an. Wunderschön war es. Wunder mich schon ob es im Sommer dort noch schöner wirkt.
